JULIA
PROJECT: Editorial
CLIENT: Julia’s Family
YEAR: 2021
Julia is an intimate editorial project conceived as an act of remembrance and transmission. Named after the grandmother whose recipes form its heart, the book preserves her culinary legacy in Mexico City, gathering dishes as vessels of memory, affection, and family history. Created after her passing, the project transforms cooking into a narrative language, allowing gestures, flavors, and rituals to endure beyond the kitchen. The works throughout the book move away from literal depictions of preparation and approach ingredients and utensils as symbolic forms, animated through color, rhythm, and abstraction. More than thirty works punctuate the pages, establishing a visual cadence that mirrors the warmth and spontaneity of her cooking. Designed as a permanent object to be shared among family members.
